EcoGlitz Crystal Glitter

Dr EcoGlitz is the fun-loving environmental scientist, festival goer and innovator behind the EcoGlitz® range of Australia’s first completely plastic-free glitter. Friendly to the most sensitive of skins, EcoGlitz® washes off easily with water and dissolves away, leaving only organic dust behind.
Originally from Germany, she gained her PhD in Material Science with a focus on chemistry and crystallography in Marseille, France in 1996. Dr EcoGlitz has lived in Australia since the late 1990s. She has worked at the Australian Water Quality Centre, for the South Australian, Queensland and Northern Territory Environmental Protection Agencies, and for a number of
universities.
It was while working with Indigenous Rangers on Cape York in 2017 that Dr EcoGlitz witnessed the devastating of pollution of our oceans first-hand and became inspired to take action. She became determined to create an environmentally friendly alternative to the plastic-based glitters that cause such devastation to our waterways, flora and fauna, and began experimenting with shimmering mica crystals, Australian plant ingredients and a food-grade preservative.
After months of trial and error Dr EcoGlitz developed a completely organic, vegan and cruelty-free cream that contains and enhances the shimmering mica particles. EcoGlitz® is more than biodegradable (not good enough, says Dr EcoGlitz – biodegradable glitters still litter the environment if not composted properly), it’s 100 per cent soluble.
Now, her patented EcoGlitz® range comes in 20 colourful hues is enabling glitter- loving big and little people alike to sparkle up their lives responsibly.
